radiant Think Home Building Demonstration

The SAP Home Building Solution is part of the SAP FOR ENGINEERING, CONSTRUCTION & OPERATIONS.  This areas covers a wide range of business types from Ship Building to various types of construction industries.

In the Home Building area SAP lists a group of companies that have implemented the home building solution.

  • Ballast Nedam, Netherlands
  • Centex Homes, USA
  • Cyrela, Brazil
  • Jim Walter Homes, USA
  • John Laing Homes, USA
  • Marg, India
  • Mitsui & Co, Japan
  • Mota Engil, Portugal
  • Rossi Residencial, Brazil
  • Urbi, Mexico
  • Vista Land, Phillipines

 But what is the Home Building Solution?  Well it is not what I would term an industry solution, but more of an approach using standard SAP functionality.  The functionality used is basically this:

  • Sales and Distribution
  • Project Systems
  • Real Estate Management
  • Materials Management
  • Variant Configuration
  • SAP Portal
  • Financials and Controlling 

SAP have some demo systems of how the functionality can work, but it is not a "template" as such.  It is enough to show how it works but is not a solution you can just pick up and use.

We at radiant Think are creating more of a template solution that shortens the implementation time by providing a starting point.  It is modelled on the Australian Home Building industry and not the US.

This demonstration shows the type of work we are doing by using flooring as an example.
