SAP Home Building Solution

You may not know this but SAP has a Home Building Solution

I was recently involved in an SAP Project implementing SAP into a Home Building Company in Australia.  The SAP Home Building solution is not so much a solution, but a framework on how to approach configuring SAP to meet the needs of the Home Building Industry.

The solution originates from the US in the main, and can cater for a broad range of construction types.  In Australia the main business model for home building companies is to provide designs, market the designs, then sub contract out the actual build of the house.  It is a model that seems to work well, but as with any business model it provides its challenges.

In a series of articles I will provide some insight into the home building solution that SAP provides, the modules it uses, the challenges and the potential it provides. radiant Think is taking a practical approach for the Home Building solution by developing a working prototype to provide a jumpstart for new Home Building projects.
